June is National Microchipping Month and it's a campaign that encourages and promotes reponsible pet ownership through microchipping as the preferred method of permanent identification.
Microchipping gives you the best chance of being reunited with your pet if they go missing. Every year, rescue centres take in thousands of stray animals and many are not reunited with their owners as there is no way of tracing them.
It’s quick and pain-free for your pet and just means that if he or she goes missing the vet or local rescue centre will be able to get them back to you asap!
And, don’t forget since April 2016, in England it has been compulsory for all dog owners to have their pooches microchipped, and you need to ensure you keep your contact details up-to-date!
